"I want to capture the essence and feeling of the islands within my paintings. The lush tropical foliage, the warmth of the sun and the sand, and the sparkling clear turquoise water. Sometimes I capture this by painting on-site (plein air) and other times I bring the memories and photographs home to recreate in my studio.
Although it had been a secondary career in the past, I have been a professional artist for over 30 years. Since transitioning from a long and successful human resource development and adult education career to painting as my primary occupation, I have enjoyed the total freedom to create art on a daily basis."
"Homeowners, beach and ocean lovers, and fine art enthusiasts seek out my original, one-of-a-kind tropical seascape or landscape paintings to create a dramatic focal point of color, peacefulness, tropical ambiance, and artistic quality.
I specialize in crafting both large and small tropical island beach paintings inspired by the beauty of Florida and the Caribbean. My artwork has earned prestigious awards and earned a spot in numerous juried group exhibitions and exclusive solo gallery showcases.
My passion as an artist is rooted in the belief that my creations are most fulfilling when they bring you joy, inner peace, a burst of energy, and a deeper connection to the natural world. That’s my greatest reward as an artist."

As an artist who specializes in painting beautiful and delicate tropical seascapes, and who is deeply committed to environmental conservation, I have always believed in the power of art to inspire change. Through my work, I strive to encourage art and ocean enthusiasts to embrace their passion for creativity while also fostering a profound sense of responsibility towards our oceans and marine ecosystems.
In a world where our oceans face unprecedented threats from pollution, over-fishing, and climate change, it is imperative that we recognize the vital role these waters play in our planet's health and the importance of preserving them for future generations.
Through my art, I aim to ignite a sense of wonder and reverence for the ocean's beauty, while also prompting individuals to take meaningful actions to protect and preserve these precious environments.
That is why I donate to organizations that help protect our oceans:
The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. Our aim is to put ourselves out of business once the oceans are clean.
The Cousteau Society has the mission of using knowledge to influence world policy that will help us protect our planet and educate people so that they will care about our Water Planet and work to keep it alive and healthy for future generations.
Tampa Bay Watch is dedicated to fostering a healthy Tampa Bay watershed through community driven restoration projects, education programs and outreach initiatives.
